Justin and Joe's love story began with a spark on the 4th of July 2019. What started as a flirty bar conversation at Union Café blossomed into a deep connection, leading them to move in together just six months later. Justin brought his two beloved cats into Joe's life, and despite initial hesitations, Joe grew to adore them as his own.
Navigating through the challenges of global pandemic and a year apart while Justin pursued a master’s degree in Chicago, their bond only grew stronger. Joe's meticulous cleanliness contrasted with Justin's more relaxed approach to tidiness, yet they found common ground and learned to complement each other. They bonded over their shared love for cooking, adventure, and their passion for travel.
In August 2023, Joe proposed to Justin on a private sunset cruise in Provincetown, sealing their journey towards marriage with love, resilience, and a shared passion for their furry family.

Nestled in the heartland of America, Columbus, Ohio, stands as a testament to resilience, growth, and cultural diversity. Founded in 1812, this vibrant city has evolved from a modest settlement into the bustling capital of Ohio. Initially established as a strategic location for political administration and trade, Columbus grew rapidly due to its central position within the state and its proximity to major transportation routes. Today, it boasts a rich tapestry of history, blending its industrial roots with a modern, forward-thinking ethos.
Visitors to Columbus will find a city brimming with attractions that cater to diverse interests. Guests with an interest in architecture might be surprised to find many gems spread across the city. The cityscape is punctuated by architectural marvels such as the historic Ohio Statehouse, where guests can explore Ohio's political history through guided tours, or the iconic LeVeque Tower, a historic Art Deco skyscraper that offers stunning views of the Scioto River and downtown Columbus. For those with a penchant for the arts, the Columbus Museum of Art showcases a diverse collection spanning centuries, while the vibrant Short North Arts District pulsates with galleries, boutiques, and restaurants. Museum lovers will also be pleased to learn that there are several wonderful places to visit including COSI (Center of Science and Industry), a world-class science museum and the National Veterans Memorial and Museum. Outdoor enthusiasts can unwind along the Scioto Mile, a lush greenway tracing the riverfront that offers picturesque views and recreational activities or take a hike along the Olentangy Trail. For foodies (much like Joe and Justin), Columbus is a veritable paradise – from upscale dining experiences at restaurants like The Refectory and The Guild House, or more down to earth fare served in the food halls of North Market and Budd Dairy, the hardest part about finding a place to eat in Columbus is choosing!
With so many guests travelling from afar to share this special occasion with us, we understand that Columbus might not have been first on your list of destinations to visit. However, whether exploring its architectural landmarks, indulging in its diverse cuisine, or simply strolling through its many museums and scenic parks, Columbus promises a memorable experience that celebrates both tradition and innovation in the heart of the Midwest. We cannot wait to share this city we call home with all of you!

FAQ's
Can I bring a guest?
Joe and Justin are both blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family members, however as a result of this abundance of loved ones we have found our potential guest count to near the capacity of the venue. Only those guests who's invitations indicate a +1 may bring an additional guest.
Are children allowed to attend?
No, both the ceremony and reception are child-free events.
I've never been to a same-sex wedding before. How does it work?
A gay wedding is similar to any other wedding with a ceremony that includes vows and ring exchanges followed by a reception with food, drinks, and dancing. However, as many of the customs of a traditional wedding hinge on the couple being mixed-gender, you may notice some subtle differences. Ultimately the fundamental principal is the same - we ask our guests to join us in the celebration of our love and our lifelong commitment to one another.
